The Student Conduct Office Conflict Resolution (CR) workshop was created to assist students in recognizing the various modes of conflict resolution and how best to resolve a conflict while still respecting their needs/boundaries. The workshop consists of a one and a half to two-hour session, along with a companion workbook that students must complete before attending the workshop. Students must bring their printed and completed workbook with them to the workshop. The CR focuses on creating a shared understanding of basic concepts related to conflict management styles and communication styles, in addition to impacts of these styles on individual relationships and the broader community. Students learn to identify their personal conflict management styles and apply appropriate communication styles alongside their peers. Discussions and activities will also help students recognize the unique context of different types of conflict and how some styles of conflict management may be more ideal depending on the context in question. Students should come prepared to participate and engage in a respectful dialogue with their peers.
- Do not forget to download AND complete the Conflict Resolution Workbook. Students must bring their printed and completed workbook with them to the workshop or the facilitator will require you to register for another workshop.
